Mid Summer Thoughts: Finding Stillness in the Fullness of Life

Jessie Caffery | AUG 3

There is something special about midsummer. The days seem to stretch endlessly, gardens are in full bloom, people are enjoying vacations and other summer activities, and life moves with a quiet abundance. Nature reminds us that growth doesn't happen all at once—it unfolds gradually, nourished by time, patience, and light, and attention.

This season invites me to pause and reflect. We’re over halfway through the year, and I find myself asking gentle questions: What has flourished? What needs more attention? What am I ready to release so that something new can emerge? It’s time to consider these concepts, as as we move yet even closer to the darker days of the year…

Midsummer also reminds us to appreciate the present moment. The warmth of the sun, the rhythm of the breath, and the feeling of bare feet on the earth offer simple invitations to be fully here. These moments, though ordinary, often become the ones we remember most.

As we continue through this season, I invite you to bring curiosity into your yoga/breathwork/meditation practice. Notice how your body feels, observe your thoughts without judgment, and celebrate even the smallest moments of growth. There is wisdom in slowing down enough to recognize how far you have already come.

May your practice(s) for the rest of this summer bring steadiness, joy, and a renewed sense of connection—to yourself, to nature, and to the quiet strength that lives within you-never forget, that quiet strength always resides within you, and you are stronger than you even know, especially when you feel like you are not!

Thank you for sharing this journey with me, and taking the time to read his thoughts in their entirety. I hope to see you and converse with you in person soon, on or off your mat. Namaste!
